Global search
Jump to any project, workflow, or page from anywhere with a single keyboard shortcut
Find anything without navigating
Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) anywhere in Studio or Hub to open search. Type a few characters, use the arrow keys, press Enter, and you are there. Esc closes it.
It exists because the alternative is four clicks. Finding a workflow in another project means going back to the org, opening the project list, picking the project, then scanning its use cases. Search collapses that into typing part of the name.
You can also click the Search box in the top bar if you prefer the mouse.
What it searches
Pages
Every item in the sidebar you are currently under, both the org-level items and the project-level ones when you are inside a project. Good for jumping to Secrets, Knowledge, or Usage without hunting for the link.
Projects
Matched on name and description, across every org you belong to.
Workflows
Matched on name and description. Results show which project each one lives in, so two workflows with similar names stay distinguishable.
Results are grouped under those three headings in that order.
Pages are matched in the browser from the sidebar you are in, so that group is the one place results depend on where you are standing. Projects and workflows are matched on the server and are the same wherever you search from.
What it does not search
Search covers the things you navigate to, not the things inside them. It will not find:
- Agents, knowledge bases, or credentials by name
- Execution history or conversation contents
- Text inside a workflow, such as a prompt or a node label
- Documents inside a knowledge base (that is retrieval, a different mechanism)
To find a workflow's contents, open the workflow. To find a document, ask an agent with that knowledge base attached.
Behaviour worth knowing
| Minimum query | 2 characters. A single character matches nearly everything, so nothing is sent until the second one. |
| Debounce | 500ms after your last keystroke. Typing a long name fires one request, not one per letter. |
| Results per group | 30 by default, 50 maximum. |
| Empty query | Returns nothing without touching the database. |
| Out-of-order responses | A slow response for an earlier query can never overwrite a newer one. |
What you can see
Search only returns projects you have access to, and only workflows inside those projects. The accessible-project set is the same one the rest of the platform uses, applied inside the query itself rather than filtered afterwards, so a project you are not a member of cannot appear even briefly.
Search reaches across every organization you belong to, so a single query can return results from more than one. It never returns anything from an organization you are not a member of.
Search is itself a permissioned action (search.global). An administrator can withhold it like any other capability. See Access control.
